AGNES OF GOD by John Pielmeier
Directed by Susan Marie Rhea -----NOW PLAYING ----at Church Street Theater

Doctor Martha Livingstone, a sophisticated and analytical psychiatrist, has been appointed by the court to determine whether or not a sweet and seemingly innocent young nun, Sister Agnes, is mentally competent to stand trial for the death of an infant whose body was mysteriously found in her room at the convent.  Agnes claims to know nothing, says she remembers nothing, and flatly denies any knowledge related to the incident. The convent’s Mother Superior is doggedly determined to protect Sister Agnes from the doctor’s probing questions and the ongoing investigation. Who was the baby’s father? Who is protecting Agnes and from what? And what is the real truth - was there a murder or a miracle? The answers will change the Doctor’s life -- and the lives of these two women of faith -- forever.
