Love, Peace and Robbery by Liam Heylin
directed by Kerry Waters Lucas
November and December will also see the first 2008-2009 production of Keegan’s new island project – the American premiere of Love, Peace, and Robbery by Liam Heylin. This production will open at Arlington’s Theatre on the Run in late November, following a week-long run off-Broadway as part of the New York Irish Theatre Festival. The production stars Eric Lucas, Matthew Keenan, and Bruce Rauscher. Kerry Waters Lucas directs.

About the play: Gary is 35 and has to be home before 9 pm. Darren is 21 and can’t show his face after 10.30. They have classes to attend, booze to be avoided, and cocaine not to be touched. But more than that are the promises to be kept: to the wife, to the parole board, to the kids they are hardly allowed to see, and most crucially to themselves – that they’ll never, ever go back to their bad old ways. Liam Heylin’s dark comedy was inspired by interviews with a group of men struggling to break the cycle of petty crime and prison. Love, Peace, and Robbery is a funny, touching portrait of the human face of the underworld.
