Artistic Directors: Kerry Waters Lucas and Eric Lucas

The Keegan Theatre is thrilled to announce the launch of its KEEGAN THEATRE new island project, which will produce under the leadership of its artistic directors Kerry Waters Lucas and Eric Lucas, both Keegan company members.

 

Keegan’s new island, which will be dedicated to producing Irish works in minimal settings, will perform all shows in its inaugural season at Arlington’s Theatre on the Run. 


Kerry Waters Lucas—most recently seen in Keegan’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Countess) and before that in Solas Nua’s The Mai, Kerry has been acting for over twenty years in the Washington area. She is a founding member of SCENA, a company member of Keegan, where she appeared in A Streetcar Named Desire (Blanche) US/Ireland, and is co-Artistic Director of Keegan’s new new island project, which will specialize in Irish and original works. Kerry received a theatre lobby award for her work in The Faith Healer and received an award for Best Actress in Zagreb, in 1995 for the role of Sarah Bernhardt in Otho Eskin’s play Duet. She is performing the role of Countess in Keegan’s summer production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile and will be a part of Keegan’s 2006 Ireland Tour production, Death of a Salesman (Linda Loman).

 

Eric Lucas—Is a founder and artistic associate of The Keegan Theatre and most recently appeared  as Albert Einstein in Keegan’s summer production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Other acting Keegan acting credits include The Keegan Theatre: A Streetcar Named Desire (Harold Mitchell)USA/Ireland, A Midsummers Night’s Dream (Puck), Side Man (Ziggy), True West (Austin—Ireland/US), An Island of No Land at All (deBourke O’Malley), The Crucible (Reverend Hale), Buried Child (Bradley), Precious Lam’ (Billy Tymes), a world premiere, A Streetcar Named Desire (Pablo), Ireland; Translations (Owen); Hamlet (Laertes). Other acting credits include: SCENA: This Lime Tree Bower, The Persians, Gladiator (Gladiator), Lonesome West (Coleman), The Good Thief; American Century, Signature; WSC; Olney; Horizons; also acting roles in feature films and television. Eric is co-Artistic Director of Keegan’s new new island project.

Directing: Keegan: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Hamlet, Fool for Love, The Walk, A Lie of the Mind, Romeo and Juliet, Tattoo Sky, Disco Pigs (with Solas Nua), A Streetcar Named Desire.  Eric is Artistic Director of The Shanachai Project New Play Festival.
